Abstract

Radiofrequency identification (RFID) has gained a large reputation in the last decades due to the efficiency shown in tracking and management, it has been integrated in many fields of our daily life, however, studies has shown that the read rate of the tags, which is related directly to the reliability of the RFID system, can be affected by many factors, which implies that the availability of the system is also affected. In some fields such as military and medical, the obstruction of the reading can result in critical consequences. In this paper, we suggest an approach to improve the availability of the RFID system, and thus, improving its reliability through the immediate detection and report of the tags reading obstruction, such as electromagnetic interference, using real time inspection.
