Abstract
Patient safety is generally assessed through medication error rates, in its both forms commission
and/or omission. Improving patient safety is essential and has always been a central concern of healthcare
professionals. To date, a variety of technologies and strategies, including hospital information system,
barcode technology, Radiofrequency Identification RFID, pharmacy management systems such as
automated dispensing cabinets, etc. have been exploited in healthcare facilities with the aim of improving
measures and conditions around patients, in particular, reducing medication dispensing errors. In this thesis,
we dealt with the assessment of performance of medication management based on radiofrequency
identification, we started by defining the drug circuit around patients, briefly explained the RFID
technology and finally expose our contributions after revealing a state of the art specialized in this matter.
